Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 automobiles have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm police.
Vehicles, exterior walls and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.
Law enforcement state they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish liquid.
The liquid had been drawn in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.
Officers then found many other marked automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement state preliminary tests show the liquid was likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no indication as to where it came from; authorities are presently not aware of any physical harm in relation with the event," they added.
Local authorities said they were attempting "to unravel the mystery" and have appealed to the residents for tips.
A high-ranking official commented the vandalism left him speechless and required to be resolved rapidly.
"This act affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on social media, mentioning the killing of nine victims by a assailant focusing on residents of migrant background in five years prior.
